Terms of Service

01 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User") and Bookchair ("we", "us", "our") governing your access to and use of the Bookchair platform, including our website, mobile interfaces, and all associated services.

By registering an account, booking an appointment, or otherwise accessing Bookchair, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

02 Definitions

• "Platform" means the Bookchair website, web application, and all related services.
• "Customer" means any individual who registers to browse, book, or review grooming services.
• "Business Owner" means any individual or entity that registers a salon, spa, barbershop, or other grooming business on the platform.
• "Service Provider" means a Business Owner and their staff who deliver grooming services.
• "Booking" means a confirmed appointment slot reserved by a Customer with a Service Provider.
• "Queue" means the live list of Bookings managed by a Business Owner on any given day.
• "Content" means text, photos, reviews, ratings, and any other material submitted to the Platform.

03 Account Registration

To access most features of Bookchair, you must create an account. By registering you agree to:

• Provide accurate, complete, and current registration information.
• Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share your password.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Be at least 18 years old, or have parental/guardian consent if between 13–17 years.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information, violate these Terms, or engage in fraudulent activity.

04 Terms for Customers

Booking Appointments

• Bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by the Business Owner.
• You must arrive at the service location at or before your scheduled appointment time.
• Bookchair provides estimated wait times in good faith, but actual wait times may vary.

Cancellations

• You may cancel a booking at any time through the platform.
• Repeated no-shows or late cancellations may result in restrictions on future booking capabilities.
• Cancellation policies specific to each business may apply — please check the salon's profile before booking.

Reviews & Ratings

• Reviews must be honest, based on your genuine experience, and comply with our content guidelines.
• You may not submit fake reviews, reviews about competitors, or reviews incentivised by payment.
• Defamatory, abusive, or misleading reviews may be removed at our discretion.

05 Terms for Business Owners

Business Registration

• You must provide accurate information about your business — name, location, services, and pricing.
• You are responsible for keeping your business profile, service menu, and availability up to date.
• You must have all required licences and permits to operate a grooming business in your jurisdiction.

Managing Bookings & Queue

• You are responsible for honouring confirmed bookings and managing your live queue accurately.
• You must update booking statuses promptly (In Service, Completed, No-Show) so Customers receive accurate wait time estimates.
• You must notify Customers of significant delays or cancellations via the platform's notification system.

Business Owner Obligations

• Treat all Customers with respect and dignity, without discrimination of any kind.
• Deliver services as described on your platform profile.
• Respond to Customer reviews professionally — do not use threatening or abusive language.
• Not use the platform to collect Customer data for purposes outside of fulfilling bookings.

Platform Fees

Bookchair is currently free to register and use. We reserve the right to introduce subscription plans or transaction fees in the future, with at least 30 days' written notice to Business Owners.

06 Prohibited Use

You agree not to use Bookchair to:

1. Violate any applicable Indian or international laws or regulations.
2. Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information or bookings.
3. Harass, threaten, or abuse any other user, Customer, or Business Owner.
4. Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the platform without written permission.
5. Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or network connected to Bookchair.
6. Introduce viruses, malware, or any other harmful code to the platform.
7. Use the platform to advertise or promote services unrelated to grooming.
8. Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any security feature of the platform.

Violation of any prohibition may result in immediate account suspension or termination, and may be reported to relevant authorities.

07 User Content

By submitting Content (reviews, photos, business descriptions) to Bookchair, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, display, reproduce, and distribute that Content within the platform for the purpose of operating our services.

You represent that:

• You own or have the right to submit the Content.
• The Content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
• The Content is not defamatory, obscene, or unlawful.

We reserve the right to remove any Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is inappropriate.

08 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Bookchair shall not be liable for:

• The quality, safety, or legality of grooming services provided by Business Owners.
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.
• Loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
• Any interruption, suspension, or termination of the platform.
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.

09 Termination

Either party may terminate the relationship at any time:

• By you — you may delete your account at any time via account settings or by contacting support.
• By us — we may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if we discontinue the platform.

Upon termination, your right to access the platform ceases immediately. We will handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10 Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Patna, Bihar, India.

Before initiating any legal proceeding, we encourage you to contact us at support@bookchair.in to resolve the matter informally. We commit to responding within 7 business days.
